8 Advanced Tips to help you Improve Your Rebounding Skills:
Results from Coaches Survey
1. Know when a shot is taken and from what area of the court it was taken.
2. Rebound the "help side." Over 60 percent of all missed shots go to the opposite side of the shot.
3. The shooter must be boxed out. They are usually the only ones that know where the rebound may go.
4. Program yourself to think that every shot will miss. The best shooters in any league only make 50 percent of their shots.
5. Tip the ball to a teammate or an open area if you cannot grab it yourself.
6. Generally, the longer the shot, the longer the rebound.
7. Timing your jump is more important than the height of your jump.
8. Use your rear-end to "sit on" the other player's knees.
